Biography
Martina Motta is Post-doctoral Fellow in Early Modern History. Her central research question concerns large construction sites between practices of extraction, territorial modifications, and local resistances in modern age. In 2023, she obtained a PhD in Architectural History from Politecnico di Torino. Alongside her academic research activities, since 2013 she has been collaborating on research projects for international cultural institutions, including the La Biennale di Venezia, Oslo Architecture Triennale, and Manifesta European Biennial. She is currently a Research Fellow at Università degli Studi di Pavia. In the context of the "Taxation, Public Expenditure, and Economic Inequality in Preindustrial Venetian Lombardy (1400-1800)" project, she is studying the mountain area of Bergamo and its municipal assets, focusing on the economic, social, and environmental impact.
